EVGA has supplied us with their take on the GeForce GTX 560 Ti, the EVGA Superclocked Edition. The EVGA SC edition is the second-lowest-clocked card of their factory overclocked cards. The first is the FPB edition, then the SC, followed by the SSC and the FTW editions. The EVGA GTX 560 Ti comes overclocked by about 75MHz on the core and 50MHz on the memory. Judging from previous overclocking results on past cards, this should still leave plenty of headroom to go higher. We will find out just how much higher in our overclocking portion of the review. Let’s get to testing EVGA’s entry into the extremely popular area of the GTX 560 Ti market and see how well they do, shall we?
The MSI R6970 Lightning Twin Frozr III graphics card has the newest version of the cooler with improved heatpipe design and the world’s first 18 Phase PWM design. With a generous overclock to 940mhz, is this the best HD6970 available on the market today?
We found ourselves reconsidering our feelings for the GTX 550Ti after using the EVGA GTX 550Ti FPB. The biggest reason is the small, yet effective, overclock that gave us the overall performance we expected from the GTX 550Ti in the first place.

Yes, Asus have always been aggressive with their Republic of Gamers literature. In a similar fashion to the Gigabyte board, the Asus Rampage III Black Edition is a balls out, no compromise board loaded with every feature, then some. Asus are calling it the ‘Ultimate X58 Gaming Board’. Them’s fighting words, but can it really hope to compete with the G1 Assassin?
Following our last reviews of the Areca 1880 RAID Card and LSI 9260-81 MegaRAID Card, we are going to take an indepth look at LSIs new release, the LSI 9265-8i MegaRAID Card, an eight-port PCI Express SATA+SAS RAID Controller that is configured for 6Gb/s devices.
To complement the latest Intel CPUs, G.SKILL is back in the game again with their latest line of memory products. The Ripjaws-X RAM, optimized for the Sandy Bridge platform, promises to deliver high performance with excellent value like the Lynnfield-optimized Ripjaws DDR3-1600 8GB CL7 set we have reviewed back in October last year. What we have here is one of their top of the heap, seriously fast DDR3-2133 Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD 8GB dual channel kit sitting here at APH Networks right now — but how well does it perform in our usual battery of benchmarks? We gave it a shot and have all the details for you in our review today.
Last month we reviewed the Crucial Ballistix Tracer Black just to recap some of the price drops we’ve seen on memory lately and what is available out there in the DDR3 realm. In the introduction to that piece we discussed how Crucial had unveiled a new variety of their Tracer memory at the 2011 CES and that we hoped to have a sample of this product available soon. Today I am happy to present the Ballistix Smart Tracer for review.
Today we’re looking at some DDR3 memory from Patriot. An offering from their Gamer series, the G2 enhanced latency kit is aimed towards gamers seeking the best performance at the best price. Let’s take a closer look and find out if it’s as good as they say it is.
