MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 Motherboard Review @ OCIA

It was a few months ago that we reviewed the MSI 890GXM-G65 micro-ATX AM3 motherboard, and while the 890GX was the first of AMD's newest chipsets to be released this year, it was far from the last. The latest to join the 800-series lineup are the 880G and 870 mainstream boards, as well as the flagship 890FX. MSI's implementation of the 890FX chipset offers many of the same features that the 890GXM does, such as their Heatpipe Thermal Design, Military Class Components, OC Genie Technology, 140W CPU Support and Active Phase Switching for better power efficiency. Even so, they've reserved a few special features just for their flagship model, like DrMOS for superior power handling capability, improved Military Class Components, Unlock CPU Core support, Real Time OC Dial and Winki, a Linux-based instant-on OS.

128GB Crucial RealSSD C300 2.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s - Planet's First SATA 6Gb/s SSD @ BCCHardware

It's nice to see the C300 from Crucial is on the cutting edge of performance and technology. They use their own NAND and RAM in this unit, combine it with a great SATA 6Gbps capable controller from Marvell and let the good times roll. It has blistering read speeds and while the write speeds aren't the fastest on the planet when it comes to consecutive writes, the random 4K writes are really fast and this drive maintains great performance levels across all file sizes.

Corsair Nova Series V128 128GB SSD @ Techgage

Over the past six months, Corsair has been phasing out its older SSD line-up and replacing it with new series' with catchier names, such as Reactor, Force and Nova. The latter is what we're taking a look at here. The goal of the Nova series is to offer huge bang for the buck, and as we've seen throughout our testing, Corsair has hit its mark.

OCZ Vertex 2 Extended SSD Test @ Benchmark Reviews

Just when PCs were starting to seem irrelevant in this fast-paced world of mobile gadgets and smart phones, along comes a new product that changes the entire landscape. SSDs, or more formally Solid State Drives, have finally lifted computers beyond the age of spinning metal magnetic platters. Delivering a boost in speed that no memory upgrade or new processor could ever dream of, solid state drive technology has sent hard disk drives packing. OCZ Technology, an enthusiast memory company and pioneer of consumer SSD products, further commits to their passion for high-speed storage and delivers the OCZ Vertex 2. Based on the SandForce SF1200 controller, the OCZ Vertex 2 Extended SSD delivers up to 50,000 IOPS with incredible bandwidth speed. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 Extended OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G against some of the fastest storage solutions on the market.

ASUS P6X58D-E Intel X58 Express Motherboard Review @ ThinkComputers

Though well equipped, including Asus’ TurboV, Asus Express gate, and Asus EPU6, among many other features, that first Asus X58 motherboard I had, the P6T, has become a little dated, especially compared to Asus’ newer motherboards. The P6T had 8+2 phase voltage regulating, Asus has since improved on that with other boards. And both USB3 and SATA 6Gb/s has been released since the P6T was released. So to bring the venerable X58 up to date, Asus has released a couple of new X58 boards. Today I will be looking at the Asus P6X58D-E motherboard, a new Asus board sporting 16+2 phase power, true USB3 and SATA 6Gb/s, and support for the Intel Bloomfield processor and Microsoft Windows 7. Read on to check out the Asus P6X58D-E motherboard!

ATI Radeon HD 5570 512MB GDDR5 DX11 Video Card Review @ Hi Tech Legion

The ATI Radeon HD 5570 512MB GDDR5 has gotten that same upgrade. The Radeon HD 5570 comes equipped with DDR5 memory rather than DDR3 and keeps all its other same baseline specifications as well as price tag. The 5570 is supposed to remain the sub $100 budget friendly video card that can be used by both casual gamers and mainstream users that want to take advantage of ATI Stream as well as Eyefinity and DX11. There are 512MB as well as 1GB versions available. I will be reviewing the 512MB version of the new 5570.

Gigabyte H55N-USB3 HTPC Motherboard @ Benchmark Reviews

GIGABYTE has grown a lot in the market lately. They mainly produce top-notch quality motherboards and GPUs, and they have even entered new areas as well. We couldn't say they had a specific motherboard for each user until they finally released their Mini-ITX H55N-USB3 motherboard. Last year, Mini-ITX motherboards meant low CPU-performance. But in 2010, things have changed and now you can build a very small PC with great performance and good efficiency. Benchmark Reviews tests the GIGABYTE H55N-USB3 motherboard paired with an Intel Core i3 530 processor and 4GB of RAM to check which kind of performance we can expect from a Mini-ITX HTPC system like this one.

The MSI GeForce GTX 460 has a 256Bit Memory Interface, 336 Shader Processors and DirectX 11. The MSI GeForce GTX 460 is facing some stiff competition from the XFX Radeon HD 5830. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SLI @ techPowerUp

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460 has been released today with big success. The cards improve on power and noise, offering great performance considering the price. This brings up the obvious question: how do these cards handle SLI? At $460 total the 2-way SLI config is cheaper than NVIDIA's flagship GTX 480, but is it worth it?

Jetway NC84E-LF mITX motherboard review @ APH Networks

Jetway has a yet another solution for you. Utilizing AMD's 785G chipset and an AM2/AM2+ CPU socket to accommodate a wide range of AMD desktop processors, you are pretty much only limited by the cooling solution mounted over your processor and how much money you want to spend. Need something cheap and decent? Slapping on an older Athlon 64 X2 will run you less than $50. Want something faster? How does a quad core Phenom sound? Created in conjunction with ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, the Jetway NC84E-LF is a significantly more fully featured motherboard than its Atom based counterparts. To see how this mITX board steps up in real life, we took one on, installed it in our custom test configuration, and pulled it through our usual battery of tests. Read on to see what we found!

OCZ Vertex 2 50GB Solid State Drive Review @ OCIA

The drive we have for evaluation today is the OCZ Vertex 2 50GB, the successor to the popular Indilinx-based Vertex we looked at a year ago. As you may have guessed, the Vertex 2 uses the SandForce SF-1200 which is now used in several other drives from other manufacturers besides OCZ. But what makes the OCZ drive unique is a custom firmware from SandForce that is optimized for maximum IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second).

Diamond HD Media Wonder - Mini HD Media Player Review @ Hi Tech Legion

The Diamond HD Media Wonder Mini HD Media Player combined portability with versatility. The Mini HD Media Player allows either a composite or component connection to play many popular media formats on the television. The Mini Media Wonder can output video in 720p and is the size of a mint tin. There are inputs for USB as well as SD/MMC so it covers the most major forms of portable storage.

Cooler Master NotePal U2 Notebook Stand Review @ OCIA

The NotePal U2 comes equipped with a pair of 80mm low profile fans measuring only 10mm thick. They also have a grill on the intake side to prevent injury from the fan blades. The unique advantage this unit has over many competitors is the ability to move the fans to a more advantageous position like under an inlet vent or where a hot hard drive sits. Worth considering is that many notebook manufacturers pay little to the cooling of the hard drive which can significantly shorten its lifespan. The ability to cool this area of the notebook could increase its life.

Sparkle GeForce GTX 465 Video Card @ TechwareLabs

$500 is not much to pay for someone determined to have the best of the best video card, but this only describes a handful of well-off individuals. The rest of us have to make trade-offs; naturally, we want the biggest bang for our buck. Cards like the GeForce GTX 465 exist to fill that niche; they offer performance that's fairly close to their top-end brethren for a more reasonable price. Sparkle has sent us a card that looks to be gunning for that market of enthusiastic-gamer-who-isn't-filthy-rich, based on the GeForce GTX 465 using nVidia's reference design.
