Welp, this looks like it's gonna be my last post for a little while. I've picked up some of my upgrade parts on Saturday, and I'll be looking into putting all this together. I got some cool stuff, and some so-so stuff. Sucks that I can't seem to find in stores, all the fancy HSFs, Iwill mobos, DDR ram, that I see online. I'd order online, but the US-CAD exchange + shipping + duty + tax just makes it too expensive. At the same time, I'm getting married next year, and I already gotta start working on the wedding planning.
So this is a bittersweet, "I'll be back". If I'm lucky, maybe I'll make a post or two during the next two weeks. During this time, I hope you check back now and then, because I'm going to try to find some friends to help keep this site updated. Ciao for a bit folks....
Give ya a hint. I play Quake 3, with a copy I own. You have a copy. .
Looks like I'll be putting together my new PC sometime next week. I'm thinking of putting together a review of the parts I mentioned yesterday, and writing up an article about the system when I'm done. It'll be a cool little dream machine, for those with a moderate budget. Also, a friend is writing up a review of Tribes 2 for me, and I'm getting a review in on those 2.1 speakers from Labtec, as well as a review on the Dell Inspiron 8000. Yah, the one with the GF2Go video card.
In other news, I spotted an article at on what CPU works best with the GeForce 3. All I can say is that if you got anything slower than a 800mhz CPU, ya might as well invest in a PS2 or wait for the X-Box. There's also a review at on the new HSF from OCZ. It's all copper and called the Gladiator. Um, not sure why, but it does dish out the hurt against other coolers.
I'm still working on the look of this site, and hopefully I'll be able to get a real domain name withen the next several weeks. I also posted a new of the Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1. Great card, but expensive. In the coming weeks, I should be receiving the following: Lian Li PC60 All Aluminum Case, a Thermosonic Thermoengine HSF, an Enermax 350W PS , and a Plextor 16/10/40 CDRW. Luckily, it's PC upgrade time for me, so I'll get some stuff to review. Too bad it'll burn a hole in my wallet the size of my ..., erm, nevermind.
Everyday, I hear people asking if they should get this game. Well, if you like Quake and got some cash to blow, go for it. Just don't expect it to be better than the stuff you can get for free, and I don't mean w4rez ya h0m0s. Read my review .
Ok, somebody has got to explain to me how computer shops work, in terms of customer support. I'm not talking about after-sales, I'm talking about PRE-sales. I'm currently putting together a new PC and there's a shop in my town that has fairly decent pricing, and no sales tax(!). Not bad, but man, their service sucks the horse's ......., well you'll know after reading .
