Thanks to those here who educated me on the 20" vs 22" vs 24".

Replacing the monitor I had before, the image quality difference is very obvious. I've seen other 22" screens up close in stores, but was a bit concerned since I wasn't happy with the backlight bleeding with the display I checked out.

On the E228WFP, when the brightness is turned up to 100%, I can see slight backlight bleeding at the top and bottom, but it's much better than the other 22". Also I notice there's a black band in the middle, but when I turned brightness lower, it's so noticeable.

For the $299 I paid, I cannot complain at all. I know actual desktop real estate isn't better than a typical 20" widescreen, but it still fills up more of my "viewing range".

Does this screen support 1080p?

1680x1050 means almost, would need to be *x1080 to support 1080p

Nice one Hiro, got any pictures? I'm guessing it looks the same as the 20 and 24? The 24" Dell also has card reader on top of the USB ports etc, but going to guess for the price that the 22" is same spec as 20".

None of mine, but here is a buddy's. He has this band going through the middle and this seems to be an issue with a lot of people. I have it also, but it's not this obvious.

I don't know if I can work with the screen looking like that.

I've seen it up close and personal at a Dell display boutique and it's not really that noticeable if you play with the settings a bit.

Is it obvious during gaming or movies?

From what I've read others say, not really.

Was selling here for $329 CAD. Up from what Hiro paid, but I bit the bullet and ordered it. Should get it by this coming week.

Dell.com is selling this screen for $296 USD, shipped (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=320-5205&cs=19&c=us&l=en).

All the specs are there, but for the money, it looks like a good deal.
