We've talked about safe CPU temps last week, but I always wondered what was safe for GPUs? I mention this since I am nervous about my X1900 always hovering around 175F when I watch videos or play games. Is this too hot?

I don't think 175F is that bad. I think GPUs can usually handle in excess of 200F. I wouldn't want to run at those temps for too long, but they should be ok there.

I've ran my X800 at 80C all the time. I probably didn't do it any good, but it didn't die at least.

GPU's can handle heat a lot better than most CPU's. Not the best of temperatures but I wouldn't worry ... unless you got an X1050 in which case thats smoking! :)

Those temps seem fine for ATI hardware. I think Nvidia GPUs run a bit cooler, like 30F cooler or so.
