Difference between two powercolor radeons.

Can anyone tell me whats the difference between a Powercolor x1950 Pro 512mb PCI-e and a x1950 Pro Extreme 512mb PCI-e. I checked the manufacturer site and specs were apparently the same. Also viewed some reviews and they same to be the same card pretty much. If anyone knows more info about em, please point me out the right path. Thanks in advance.

Any difference in software bundles? Maybe the Extreme has better cooling?

Both have the same cooling, maybe its package contents that vary.

I believe the PowerColor X1950 PRO 512MB AC is Crossfire and the Extreme is meant to be a single card solution. I only assume that due to nothing being noted on the Extreme as it relates to Crossfire...

Pretty tough to say actually. If you look around the net then -

A Powercolor x1950 Pro 512mb PCI-e has a core speed of 575MHz, mem speed of 690MHz x2 (1.38GHz).
A Powercolor x1950 Pro Extreme 512mb PCI-e has a core speed of 594MHz, mem speed of 695MHz x2 (1.39GHz).

But, if you look at Powercolor's website, the Powercolor x1950 Pro 512mb PCI-e has an X1950 gpu and the Extreme has an X1950pro GPU, both running at 600/700(1400). Which seems stupid, as why call a non-pro card a pro?

Looking at the specs (again on Powercolors site) the Extreme has VIVO, apparently the non-Extreme doesn't, nor does it have HDCP like the Extreme. Then again, if those specs are right, one of them has 2 DVI out, the other has none, which I highly doubt. Then the Extreme supports resolutions up to 2048 x1536 while the other supports resolutions up to 9. Yes, 9, singularly. Whoever edits the Powercolor site should be hit upside the head with a large graphics card, preferably in the box and with full specs listed.

Total guess here, but I would say that the muppet in charge of the website at Powercolor has rounded up all the speeds, and that what I said at the beginning is true; an Extreme card is Overclocked out of the box.
