Have not upgraded for a long time and now am building a new system. When i look at the pictures on the new video cards the slot that my monitor hooks up to is a different setup then the pins in the cable. Is there an additional hook up to make this work. Srry for the dumb question.
I am looking at getting the sapphire x1950xt
Thanks

Mmm, well it would help if you could be a little bit more specific about what you're seeing, like posting a link.
I'm assuming that you're talking about HDMI. They have started putting those on monitors to go along with HDCP content. However you can buy a HDMI to DVi cable at most online websites that carry video cards. I hope that helps.

I think it sounds like DVI actually. Those adapters still come with most video cards you buy.

DVI left, (S-Vid middle) VGA right. Most cards come with DVI to VGA adapters if they have Dual DVI. If not, then the adapters can be bought cheaply enough.

Well I would have thought that too, but he said it didn't have pins... (a different setup then pins in the cable.) I guess he could have mis-spoke, but he hasn't replied back yet...
