Corsair and Kingston Ram giveaway

Up for grabs this year is 1GB (2x512MB) of Corsair TWINX PC4400 for the winner, and 512MB (1x512MB) of Kingston ValueRam PC3200 for the runner-up. Shipping is on me if the winner is in North America (you pay if outside Canada/USA), and contest is open worldwide.

Rules are simple... it's all about NHL predictions. Contest is for forum members only. No minimum post count, but you obviously need at least one.

Starting today, predict your winners for the third round of the playoffs, and your pick to win the Stanley Cup. After each round, you'll have the opportunity to change your prediction before the start of the next round. The deadline is 4PM EST the day of the next round for the appropriate conference.

The breakdown is as follows:

By the round:

5 pts: Correctly predict the winner of each round.

1 pt added: Every win your pick gets. Yes, you will earn points if your team loses.

1 pt added: If your team sweeps, and you predict it.

2 pts added: If you correctly predict the number of games needed (Detroit in 6 for example).

Bonus points:

20 pts: If you predict the playoff MVP before the start of the first round.

15 pts: If you predict the Stanley Cup winner before the first round starts.

9 pts: If you predict the Stanley Cup winner before the second round starts.

7 pts: If you predict the Stanley Cup winner before the third round starts.

5 pts: If you predict the Stanley Cup winner before the final round starts.

**Rule Additions**
Starting the 3rd round, predict the difference in goals for to earn extra points. If by the end of the series, you predict a +10 (your pick scores 10 more goals than the losing team), you will get extra points. Here's the breakdown:

10 pts: You predict the EXACT goal difference.
8 pts: If you're off by 1 (positive or negative)
6 pts: If you're off by 2 (positive or negative)
4 pts: If you're off by 3 (positive or negative)
2 pts: If you're off by 4 or 5 (positive or negative)

Stanley Cup Series

5 pts: If you predict the Playoff MVP before the start of the Stanley Cup.

3 pts: If you predict overtime (in the Stanley Cup round) before the start of the Stanley Cup round.

In the event of a tie (in order):

1. Whoever's team suffered the fewest losses.
2. Whoever's team scores the most goals.
3. Whoever's team allows the fewest goals.
4. Random drawing.

There may be slight rule additions during the playoffs to give everyone a chance, so don't sweat it too much if you get clobbered after round one.
