WinFast A170 is not playing ball..

I'm trying to swap a WinFast A250 (Ti4200) with an A170 (MX440). Both are 4xAGP, but when I put the A170 in, there are multiple beeps on POST, and the monitor remains black. I tried removing existing A250 driver and reverting to 'default' monitor, but didn't help. Can't even see the screen to look at the BIOS. The MoBo is an MSI P4 with a P4 2.0G, running XP. The A170 works perfectly well in my MSI KT3 with an Athlon 2100+ (Win2KPro). Anybody got any ideas..?

first of all those beeps mean it can't find a video card so make sure it's seated full when you turn it on
second.. what are you replaceing a t14200 with a 440mx?
