Tip: Google Chrome
For some unknown reason my brother prefers Google Chrome over Firefox. The lack of addons (mostly adblock) stopped me from using Chrome. As I watched my brothers web pages being filled with adds and the odd pop up from party poker I once again tried to convince him Firefox was better. After failing that argument I decided to see if anything could be done (for free).
After trying several ad blockers I found a configuration that works very well in Chrome. Download & Install In Google Chrome; Options -> Under the hood -> Change proxy settings Internet Properties; Connections -> LAN settings Check "Use proxy server" Address: 127.0.0.1 Port: 8118 Check "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" He has been using this for the las couple of days, and has been add free This also works in Internet Explorer but it leaves a white box with a blocked message where the add was.

Nice little trick, thanks for the info... I use Chrome for my netbook as it gives me a little more real estate then FF does, and on a 9" screen, that's a big deal :P

I just edit my host file and point all the crappy domains to localhost.
