also good to see abit include three ide cables instead of the usual one. i know they're not expensive but it's a nice touch, especially in swanky black and silver. as for the lack of ps/2, serial and parallel ports, sometimes evolution is a matter of being kicked in the rear...

Thanks for the thorough review. I really appreciate that the review did touch on the issue of the termistor diode. At least I know that even though the board supports the reading of temperatures off the Athlon XP's on die thermal diode, it is practically redundant due to the existence of the termistor in the zif socket.

Nice review, only a little short on detail in places...
One error, there is nothing stopping you run Win98SE on it, it fully supports USB HID devices, etc.
I have been running it on mine for 3+ months now with zero issues.
Currently it's hosting a XP1600 @ 1740 (174x10) and is totally stable (seti 24x7)
Best board I have ever played with so far...

Yup same here, best board I've had the chance to look at too. Tho that said, my eye is on the new AT7 Max2
As for Win98SE running on it, I tried it and couldn't get it working. I didn't really put much effort in it to be honest because like it says on the box, it's designed for ME/2K/XP systems. Might have to go back and try again, just for curiosities sake

isn't Win ME just another flavour of 98? you'd think if it ran ME than 98 wouldn't be a problem. btw, i can't stand Win ME. what a waste of time that was.

Yes, very well all around board, with great features.
I'm running my XP 1700 @ 1605 (145x1.8v) currently. I could go higher, but.. too lazy to unlock the processor
I just wish the performance was better.. but as you expect, with so many onboard features, slows down performance overall
The only problem I have with it is with the Ethernet controller. A normal patch cable won't work for me for some reason. I can only use a cross-over cable |

I've heard a lot of users says this recently (after the review, heh), but all I can say is I have had zero problems personally. Real shame because it is a great board.
