Hello :D
I'm hoping to get a Gigabyte GA-8PE667 mobo. I'd like to be able to get some PC3200 DDR but only if I can use it to its full advantage.
Am I right in thinking that the P4 2.4B does not like to be overclocked, - so I won't be able to overclock it enough to use the PC3200 at it's max speed.
So will the P4 2.53 be able to be overclocked enough so I can get the most out of the PC3200 DDR ?
Also can I OC the gigabyte mobo without OC'ing the pci slots and hard drive etc etc ?
Another query I have is if the P4 2.26 has a multiplier of 17, 2.4 multiplier of 18 and 2.53 multiplier of 19, then why are the 2.26 and 2.53 so much better to OC than the 2.4B ? I''d have expected the 2.4B to be a compromise between the two ?
Is the 2.53B worth an extra £60 from the 2.4B

Actually, my guess is the 2.4B would be a better overclocker since the multiplier is a little lower. Of course, different yields nets different results, so you milage would vary. Since the price difference is minimal, maybe the 2.53 isn't a bad idea.
To get the most out of your ram, you want a higher FSB, which is why a slower CPU actually has a better chance. That being said, I've seen a lot of good overclocks from the 2.53 as well.

just make sure your motherboard has the 3:4 CPU:Memory ratio. I know the IT7 has it but I'm not sure how many other do
