Winamp3 was released this weekend, and I have found many people do not like extreme version changes, and many people do in fact resist change (IE: Counter-Strike releases always leaves people whining.) I have found the skinning abilities of Winamp3 to be incredible, outweighing the small stupidities (thinger, AVI's playing upside down on some systems, Media Library.) What do you guys think?

Of course, to download winamp3 go to . You can have both 2.xx and 3.xx installed at the same time without conflict - so if you just want to try it out, then go ahead.

Shrug a few changes to prefs and it's the same thing as 2.xx, i never play any visual media on it anyway just cd's and mp3s so it's basically no different then the last one.

There use to be a time when Winamp "really whipped the llama's ass", but it's starting to become bloatware.

I can handle the 25mb of ram it takes up but what REALLY shits me is the way that when you exit, your position in the playlist isn't saved anymore. I'm sick ot death of having to scroll thru 40-50 songs to get to get to where I was every time

I don not see much of an improvement. Just the skin for the player, they are more complicated to make.

I haven't seen any improvements at all - but I still use it because winamp3 skins can change the shape of the player so the skins look heaps better now

It's still on my drive, but I don't use it at all now. I found the half the Video files I have wouldn't even play on it. Gone back to 2.82 and I'll probably stick with that.
