User Reactions

After having my mildly modified case I wanted to see how this case would not only perform but look and fit into my life. The case performed better my old case keeping case temps around 22C, and CPU temps in the low 40C range full load, where my pervious case was a couple degrees hotter. Using all four fan positions instead of the two I used would defiantly increase the performance of the case. Appearance wise I think the case looks very sharp. I have always liked this style of case. I don’t like to have my optical drives and other items hidden with a door or anything like that, I like them to be out in the open, but still hidden. This case allowed for that and a lot more. The four lights near the bottom are very cool looking, and the included light switch behind the door is a very nice feature, especially at night. I really like the color scheme, nothing stands out; it all seems to blend together. The only thing for balance sake that I would have liked to have seen is the reset button light up as the hard drive activity light does. It just looks off next to the bright white lighted power button and blue lighted hard drive activity light. The case came as a blank slate, which I really liked, as I can now choose what shape of window I want to add, and all of those custom jobs.

Conclusions

This case is really great for all users. It provides the good performance and looks that the enthusiast is looking for as well as the average user as it is competitively priced. The exclusion of some features such as thumbscrews was a bit of a downer, but the inclusion of features like the removable motherboard tray and it’s stunningly good looks made up for it. The fact that the case came as a blank slate has its positives and negatives. For someone like myself who plans on customizing it to the way I want it is good, because you don’t have to deal with pre-modified pieces and try and fit them into the theme. Other users my overlook this case because it does not come pre-modified with a window already installed because they would have to deal with the hassle of doing that. The CS-5107’s cooling performance was top notch, even with only two fans installed it still beat my other case. This case fits the bill for both standard users as well as enthusiasts and for that reason it is a really good computer case.

Pros
Awesome looks
Blank slate (A lot of room for modifications)
Good cooling performance
Motherboard tray
Front USB and Audio
Nice lighting, with light switch
Excellent fit and finish
Whole case dissembles using standard hand screws

Cons
No thumbscrews
Reset button looks off because it does not light up
Blank slate (Users may miss their pre-modified pieces)
Front acrylic blemishes easily
No user manual (although do you really need one?)

Bottom Line
This case looks and performs awesome. It lacks some features like thumbscrews but makes up for it with room for four fans and a removable motherboard tray. Basically the case has a lot of potential and I am happy to have it as my case.
