SiSoft Sandra 2007 MMX

SiSoft Sandra 2007 Memory

Well, it looks like the memory optimizations in
the 965 chipset have really paid off as the Abit AB9-Pro is consistently
faster than the other boards by a noticeable margin. The memory
benchmarks really show the difference between the 965 and 975
chipsets.
PiFast

All three boards were close, with the AW9D-MAX holding
the lead. I was a bit surprised to see the AB9-Pro fall at the
rear of the pack, but it did not trail by much.
CDeX

The results are fairly close again between the three
boards, with the AB9-Pro taking a 1 second lead on the AW9D and
5 seconds on the ASUS board. The gap can widen though with a larger
music file, so something to keep in mind.
TMPGEnc

Like the CDeX test, the results are close, but not
as close as one may think considering a larger file can make the
difference more apparent. Video editing can be memory intensive,
hence the lead taken by the AB9-Pro and the improved MCH on the
965 chipset.
Photoshop CS2

Photoshop is a real CPU and subsystem killer. I
know from experience that memory plays a huge part in Photoshop's
performance, so I was surprised we didn't see a bigger gap. That
said, the AB9-Pro does hold a clear lead over the other two boards.
