PiFast
The X6800 pretty much cleans house here, beating
the 840 XE by almost 100%.
CDeX
In our audio encoding tests, the X6800 is over a
minute faster. Working with larger audio files, we can expect
to see this gap widen.
TMPGEnc
The results are not as dramatic here, but the 840
XE lags behind by nearly 2 minutes.
Photoshop CS2
Photoshop is a very popular image editing application
which is also industry standard amongst the print and web industry.
Here we can see that the X6800 is a lot faster than the 840 XE.
DVD Shrink
This is the biggest gap we've seen today. The X6800
is approximately 200% faster than the 840 XE.
3DMark06
In 3DMark06, we can see the same trend continuing
in the X6800's favour, but more significantly, the 7900 GT is
able to perform at a higher level with the faster CPU.
