Multitasking with Business Winstone 2004
The NCQ enabled drives rule the roost in the multitasking
tests. Even the older 7200.7 drive in a single drive configuration
is able to edge out the 74GB Raptor. The 7200.8 holds the crown
though in both single and RAID.
Sysmark Office 2004
NCQ has no impact here as the Raptors finish first
and second with the Barracuda 7200.8 tying the 36GB Raptor for
second. RAID has little impact here as the scores match the single
drive setup.
Sysmark Content Creation 2004
Much the same in the Content Creation tests, with
the Barracuda 7200.8 needing a RAID0 setup to tie the single 74GB
Raptor.

In the game load tests, one thing that is clear
is that RAID0 does not do much to speed up the loading of game
levels. The 74GB Raptor is generally the fastest drive in these
tests, but the 7200.8 improves upon the 7200.7's performance.
