EverestUltimate:

Although a synthetic benchmark, it's a popular one, freely available if youwish to make comparison benchmarks. We will be testing the memory at stock speeds.

While the separation is minor, the Super Talent Triple Channel modules, even with their higher steppings, take a slight advantage through basic memory read / write and copy.  CPU Queen is a dead heat, to close to call either way, however, Photoworx shows a nice advantage going the way of Super Talent and Triple Channel.

Phoronix(Memory Read/Write):

Just as Everex has a memory test subsection, so does the Phoronix Suite. Here we test memory read and write performance within a Linux operating environment.

Here we see a nice advantage to triple Channel as Super Talent has a slight edge on reads and a somewhat substantial advantage on writes.

Phoronix (Encoding and Encyrption):

Video encoding is a taxing chore, both on Memory and Processor, we used the Phoronix Test Suite FFMpeg portion for this test. Once again a dead heat between the two. Encoding Audio gets several of the subsystems involved, CPU and Memory play a large role. Here we see a slight advantage to Super Talent.

GnuPGis an encryption algorithm designed by Werner Koch back in 1999, itis compatible with and along the lines of PGP. This test takes a 2GBfile and encrypts it, pretty heavy duty work... Time is in seconds, lower is better. Another substantial victory for the Super Talent Extreme Memory kit.

Overclocking:

My first foray into overclocking PC3 memory did not fair well, it was not the fault of the memory mind you, the chipsets that supported DDR3 at the time were in their infancy. Today, that is not the case, while the Core i7 is new, the controller built within have already proven able to overclock well. With much tweaking, turning off SPD and changing the dividers I achieved my maximum overclock:

While I was not able to get the Super Talent PC3-12800 Extreme Memory toclock to the i7's maximum OCpotential, it did quite well considering, once again, that we are matching three modules of like performance instead of two.

FinalWords

The DDR3 bandwagon has been waiting for its ride for sometime, Intel and AMD are the catalyst to get it moving without the brakes fully applied. Super Talent has once again shown that it can deliver a product that lives up to its name and delivers on its specifications. While I could not squeeze much more out of the modules then what Super Talent states as their performance, their performance is very impressive. While the aesthetics might not be there for everyone, looks aren't everything when you can post numbers like these, especially considering Super Talent is pairing 3 modules of 2GB together, a harder task then just 2.
