Like we've seen with all our D3D benchmarks, the All-In-Wonder X1800 XL has a slight edge over the 7800 GT in Half-Life 2. Image quality wise, both looked the same, and gameplay wise, we felt neither card had a significant advantage over the other.
Overall Gameplay Experience
Again, the results shown today are simply benchmarks. We felt that with the exception of the Chronicles of Riddick, both the All-In-Wonder X1800 XL and Asus N7800 GT "felt" the same during gameplay. It seems that Direct X games still favour ATI hardware, at least when comparing similar classes of ATI and NVIDIA hardware. However, when it comes down to it, neither would be a bad choice though the 7800 will have the added advantage of possible SLI mode if you grab a second card. CrossFire is still MIA for the X1000 family and All-In-Wonder support with CrossFire is still untested.
Gaming Image Quality
Image quality was tough to compare. We were hoping to see some sort of impact with Avivo, but it really only came into play with video playback. Compared to NVIDIA's current hardware/drivers, there are quite a few more image quality options which will allow the users to really tweak their settings. Out of the box, we found ATI's Control Center more intuitive and easier to adjust the various AntiAliasing and Anisotropic filtering. Speaking of which, for the most part, we found AA to be equal between the two, with AF slightly stronger on the All-In-Wonder X1800 XL.

7800 GT 4xAA/16xAF

As mentioned earlier, things did look a bit washed out on the All-In-Wonder X1800 XL compared to the 7800 GT in Far Cry. However, the filtering seems to be a bit better judging from the clearer looking horizon.

As mentioned earlier, it's pretty hard to spot any difference enabling AA/AF in Doom 3. Both screenshots look more or less the same, though the AF seems to be a bit smoother in the right handed image.
