Jedi Knight II

Jedi Knight II is a little more CPU limited than video card limited (we'll see in a few moments), but make no mistake. A fast video card is required if you still want good framerates at high resolutions and all the effects turned on.

The GeForce FX5900 takes the Jedi Knight II contest by the skin of it's teeth. Except of course at 1600x1200 where it just couldn't keep up with the Radeon 9700 Pro as we increased AntiAliasing.

Jedi Knight II nVidia Specific AntiAliasing

Oddly enough, for both JK2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein, at 1600x1200 8xAA, the games saturated the memory buffer, forcing 4xAA. This we noticed since the framerates matched 4xAA, so we will be omitting those results. 6XS and Quincunx are Direct3D only, and will not be shown.

Although a performance hit is obviously noticeable from no AA/AF to 8xAA/8xAF, the image quality is excellent. The frame rate drop when upping resolutions is hardly noticeable if even at all.
