let me tell you something viper.. there is almost no difference between a 64 and a regular version.. speed is marginal and other improvement have to be seen... still tweaking the registry and services...

strangely enough boot up is slower.. i have to wait 9 more secs

Yea... I have it installed right now... but i dont really like it either... its not any different. And Internet Explorer 64Bit is like a total joke... There is no difference anywhere!

Have they gotten the java and fash plugins to work yet in ie 64? Othrewise u need to ditch the new ie anyway.

nope, the flash and java appear to send my machine straight to hell


after 2 weeks... tweaking the reg and serv files... optimizing the page files.


it aint worth shit.

well i found a plus, i can run the Cucusoft software (decode), play hl2, and my cad cam programs, div x videos at the same with no crashes... that might be the strength is the ability to run multiple operations..

but without any performance increases or anything marginal, you might as well stay with the basic xp os.

turbo written on the side.. without any turbo effects.

Well 64-bit windows will need to mature like any MS OS (or even any OS for that matter). I remember when 2k came out and no one moved from 98 because it was faster... in the end 2k was the better platform after sp1/sp2 and much better driver support.

So maturity is going to be the key (I'm sure you know all this, just re-itterating).
