The 26" has a max resolution of 1920x1200, the 22" is 1920x1080. The 26" is a 16:10 aspect ratio monitor, which up until recently was the default aspect ratio of widescreen computer monitors. Now however they are moving to 16:9 to bring it in line with TV widescreen aspects. The 22" is 16:9. For HD movies, this means that (assuming that the movie is 16:9 in the first place, and I would bet most won't be) that the picture will fill the screen, but on the 26" with it's 16:10 aspect ratio you would get black bars at the top and bottom. In reality, most HD films are the same aspect ratio as they were filmed in, which is likely to give you the 'letterbox' on both monitors. For HD films, I would get the largest monitor I could. For games, the extra pixels would be nice.
