Intel Atom 330 real-world performance?
I've been looking at building a barebones system with an Atom 330 (dual core 1.6 ghz) and 2gb ram, possibly with some flavor of linux... I'm just wondering if anyone's built one or has a netbook with a 330 that can give me some idea of it's overall performance. I'm not looking for lightning quick boot time and program launches, but I don't want to wait 5 minutes before I can type up something in Writer. I've scoured the net for performance reviews but none of them come out and say "this works great with Open Office and performance in launching apps, having multiple apps open, etc. isn't an issue". I'm basically looking to use it as an office PC, running Open Office, and of course web browsing and e-mail. With the limited cache on the Atom series processors, would this be a worthwhile system to build? I know upgradability is going to be pretty much nonexistant, but as a PC running only office and web apps, I don't know as if that's something I really need to be concerned with. I just need to know if this is going to work reasonably well.
