P45

I'm just wrapping up my review, but here is Overclockers Club's review of the MSI P45 Platinum.

Now that the latest motherboards featuring the Intel P45 chipset have been released, the questions on which one performs best have started. For some, the feature set will ultimately make the final determination on which one to purchase. Others will base their purchases on price regardless of performance or feature set. Then there is the enthusiast, for whom the only thing that matters is performance and the ability to reach insane clock speeds on the processor and memory. Some boards have it and some don’t. “It” is the ability to reach the maximum speeds that your hardware is capable of, CPU or system memory.

X48

ASRock X48TurboTwins-WiFi Motherboard. Yeah, don't try to say it drunk.

Continuing with the philosophy of catering to the mid-range and high-end (enthusiast) markets, ASRock follows up the tri-SLI Penryn1600SLIX3-WIFI with a board utilizing a brand new Intel chipset, the X48TurboTwins-WiFi. The latest from ASRock is based off the popular Intel X48 chipset, a follow-up of the X38 chipset, and allows for high speed DDR3 memory support along with two full 16x PCIE slots. Along with the latest and greatest chipset, the board hosts a number of innovative features such as support for 1600 and 1333 FSB processors out-of-the box as well as hybrid DDR2 and DDR3 memory compatibility.

DDR3

OC3D check out the CSX Diablo3 PC3-16000 (DDR3 2000) 2GB kit.

Diablo - A name that conjures up images of an extremely fast 1990's super car and horned beasts emerging from the fiery depths of hell. Sadly, OC3D declined to offer me a test drive of Lamborghini's finest and I wasn't keen on witnessing the spawn of Lucifer, so I settled for taking a look at a 2x1GB set of DDR3 ram bearing the same name.

Watercooling

Zalman Reserator XT Liquid Cooling System is at HardwareLogic. Zalman have done really well with the Reserator kits, and this XT is looking to be a winner too.

Once considered the ultimate in geekdom, liquid cooling (also known as water cooling) has become almost mainstream. For those pushing the envelope, there's high performance (and high cost) kits from retailers such as Danger Den, DTek, or Swiftech. However, those kits usually require either a great deal of patience, or experience, during installation. For those less schooled in the art of exotic cooling, your choices are fairly limited. While there are no shortage of pre-fabbed kits, both internal and external, marketed at the novice, these kits usually forego quality to make themselves as easy to install and user friendly as possible.
