Testing
We will be testing the Corsair Flash Voyager, using real-world file transfers. The test bed will be an i7 965 Extreme, MSI X58 motherboard, a Seagate 7200.11 1TB drive and 6GB of Corsair Dominator. The OS is Vista 64-Bit, all recent updates and SP1 applied.
We will be testing small file transfer, large file transfer and a large single file. For the small files, we have 12 CBR files (The Watchmen), each roughly 17MB for a total of 198MB. For the large file, we have 4 episodes of The Sopranos, each roughly 450MB for a total of 1.88GB. For the single file, we using a downloaded movie trailer for Terminator Salvation, weighing in at 142GB.
Files will be copied from the hard drive to the Corsair Flash Voyager (write) and after clearing the clipboard, copied from the Flash Voyager back to the hard drive. Comparison drives will be 4GB Kingston Data Traveller, 2GB Sandisk flash drive and a 4GB Flash Voyager.

Final Words
The fell in line with the other drives we've tested. It was a little faster than the smaller Flash Voyager, as well as being a bit speedier than the Kingston drive. All that being said, it did take over 5 minutes to put a little less than 2GB on the drive. Multiply that number by another 30 or so, and you can see it will take a long time to fill it up.
From a space perspective, well, it's 64GB. Certainly if you have a need for a drive this large right now, you're probably moving around more than some office documents and a couple MP3 files. It's expensive, but initially, when it came out, it was selling for about $90 more, so the price is a bit more reasonable. That said, it's going to be hard to justify spending if you're not going to be using that much space.
We did run through some durability tests. We dropped it down some stairs, ran it over with my Honda CR-V and even stuck it head first in the snow for a few days.

Each time we put the drive back in the PC, all the data was there. It's also backed with a limited 10-year warranty, though if you did lose your data, there isn't much they can do about that. Also, you tell them you lost it because you stuck it in a burrito and microwaved it, that probably falls outside the warranty.
At this time, the Corsair Flash Voyager 64GB sits on top of the large capacity, ultra-portable mountain. It's solid as a rubber rock and can take a beating while keeping your data safe. It's not too bad on the speed front either, but you better take the time to get more than a coffee as you wait to fill the whole drive in one sitting.
