CasEdge Diabolic Minotaur CasEdge Diabolic Minotaur: We take a look at a rather unique looking case, and see if it's something suitable for enthusiasts.

With everything loaded and installed into the case, it can become quite a mess, seen here without any sort of cable routing. The lengths of the PSU wires are clearly at their maximum limit reaching to the harddrives. They should be longer to accommodate the length of the case. One would think that because the PSU came with the case the cables would be the appropriate length.

Cooling

Case temps were decent and performed similarly with the Antec Sonata. Under load and my Swiftech MCA-462 with 57CFM Delta operating off the 5v rail, it maxed out at about 42C.

Conclusion:

The case really had something good things going for it, an all inclusive package with a PSU, window, installed 120mm rear exhaust fan, cold cathode, and light up front bezel, but in many other ways it was simply lacking. The railing system seems rough, and the edges on the inside are sharp.

The case is available for $149 USD with the 400 watt power supply, but that puts in direct competition with other cases that I think that this case isn't ready to stand up to. If they streamlined the railing system, rounded off some of the edges, and made the overall feel of the case more solid, it could be a really good case. So unless you really like the way it looks, or want a package that simply has everything, I suggest you look else where.

Pros:
Rails for the 5 ¼" drives, the 3 ½" exposed drives, and the harddrives.
Motherboard tray
Included very solid PSU
Included Cold Cathode
All items needed for the case integrated into the design
Vent directly over the processor on the side panel
Interesting Aesthetics (can be a pro or con)

Cons:
Interesting Aesthetics (can be a pro or con)
Sharp edges
Rails are flimsy
Plasticy feel
No reset button
Only one fan, in the only one place you could mount a fan
Difficult to install the motherboard tray with the motherboard attached
Harddrives mounted too close to each other
Only 2 harddrive brackets come with the case, even though there are four locations
No harddrive cooling or fan blowing in air from the front of the case

The Bottom Line: It's a decent case that could have been so much more. Unless you like the way it looks, or want the all inclusive packaging, a different case might suit your needs better.
