SiSoft Sandra 2007 CPU

SiSoft Sandra 2007 MMX

SiSoft Sandra 2007 Memory

A nod to both boards here as the Abit AW9D takes the CPU tests while the MSI P6N Platinum wins out for memory. All three tests are synthetic but the balance of it in the Multimedia test is that their is little difference performance wise between the two.

PiFast

Abit's AW9D does well here but I would remind you again that the P6N Platinum is aimed at more of the mid range compared to the 975x chipset based Abit. With that in mind, the P6N does very well.

CDeX

A dead heat here, which with the Memory and CPU performance of each in previous tests taken into account, is the expected result.

TMPGEnc

In this test the MSI board wins, likely due to the better memory numbers. However, the difference is quite minimal in reality, but of course will expand using larger files.

Photoshop CS2

This benchmark can really test (no pun intended) your system and offers a good real world result. Here the 975x holds the lead, but for a budget board the MSI does very well indeed coming within just 3 seconds of the Abit board.
