In Quake 3, it isn't even close as the AX600XT knocks the PCX5750 down easily. The PCX5750 still provides a good gaming experience, but less so than the AX600XT at the higher quality settings and resolution.

We're still a bit puzzled over the horrendous framerate drop at 1280 on the PCX5750, but the AX600XT is far more consistent. Even at 6xAA and 16xAF, the game is still very playable, though for online gaming, I would not recommend it.

Though the high-end NVIDIA parts edge out the high-end ATI parts on Doom 3 benchmarks from around the web, things are a bit closer in the $250 bracket. The AX600XT isn't quite as smooth as we'd like, but it is faster than the PCX5750 across the board (but not by a whole lot).

Dialing down the image quality, the AX9600XT has a pretty good showing, particularly at 800x600. I know the days of 800x600 gaming is behind us for a lot of serious action gamers, but Doom 3 still looks pretty good and is quite playable at this resolution.
