MSI G4Ti4200-TD8X64: MSI has come a long way from just being another motherboard manufacturer. They've expanded into several markets now, including servers and multimedia. Today we'll be looking at their latest video card, the Ti4200-TD8X64.

Benchmarking - AntiAliasing

Quake 3 Arena - 2 x AntiAliasing

Return To Castle Wolfenstein - 2 x AntiAliasing

UT2003 DM-Antalus - 2 x AntiAliasing

UT2003 CTF-Citadel - 2 x AntiAliasing

We see once again that the onboard memory gives the VTD8X the upper hand. 2 sample Anti-Aliasing is even manageable for Quake at 1600x1200.

As for 4 x AntiAliasing, we're going to demonstrate just UT2003, since this is the latest engine, we may as well see how jacking up the image quality affects it.

UT2003 DM-Antalus - 4 x AntiAliasing

UT2003 CTF-Citadel - 4 x AntiAliasing

The card didn't do incredibly well with 4 sample Anti Aliasing (although one can't expect that much out of a Ti4200).

Overclocking

Finally we come to overclocking. I reached a 280 Mhz clock and a 580 Mhz RAM speed, a tad bit slower than the VTD64 could go. I surmise that the RAM has a higher latancy than the VTD64's 3.6ns memory, thereby causing a lower overclock.
