Left 4 Dead 2 – DirectX 9
Settings: 1920×1080, 8xMSAA, 16xAF, Very High
Left 4 Dead 2, even at highest possible settings poses very little challenge to the HIS 6950 IceQ X Turbo X 2GB Graphics Card. You get the odd dip when all hell is breaking loose on your screen but it doesn’t detract too much from game play. Different maps will of course pose heavier graphical challenges to the card, but there is plenty of room for dropping your settings slightly to allow for smooth frame-rates for those maps.
Assassin’s Creed 2 – DirectX 9
Settings: 1920×1080, 4xMSAA, All options in game set to highest
I was actually quite surprised by the results for Assassin’s Creed 2, so much so that I ran them a few times extra to be sure. It’s not that I couldn’t believe the results, they just seemed surprising considering the difference between the two cards in Left 4 Dead 2, also a DirectX 9 game. Still, it is usually in DirectX 9 games we see larger differences, and for Assassin’s Creed 2 that certainly seems to be the case. Whilst ultimately the highest frame-rate doesn’t differ between the two cards, the minimum frame-rate and average does make a distinct change while playing. It’s incredibly smooth under pretty much every situation in game with the HIS 6950 IceQ X Turbo X 2GB Graphics Card, and it makes it a complete joy to play at these settings.
